Following a hearing of the Professional Conduct Committee (PCC) into a complaint made against Mr. James Casey, MPSI (Reg. No 10324), the Council of the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland considered the report of the PCC on 30 April 2026 and decided to suspend Mr. Casey’s registration for a period of four weeks pursuant to section 48(1)(b)(iii) of the Pharmacy Act 2007. Under section 57(1)(c) of the Act, the Council is obliged to give public notice of the sanction of suspension of a registrant’s registration.

The Council considered the issue of publication of the PCC’s report pursuant to section 57 of the Act and decided that it was in the public interest to publish the report of the Committee in its entirety, suitably redacted.

The Council’s decision was subsequently confirmed by the High Court.

Effective Date of Decision: 14 September 2026
