The PSI conducts various types of inspections to ensure compliance with pharmacy and medicines legislation as well as the PSI guidance.  These inspections aim to protect patients and the wider public by ensuring safe and effective pharmacy practice.

The PSI ensures that pharmacists and pharmacies comply with legal and professional standards to protect the health and safety of the public. Our enforcement activities include routine inspections, investigations and taking the necessary actions to maintain the highest standards of pharmacy practice.

The Pharmacy Assessment System is an annual self-audit tool for pharmacies. It allows pharmacies to evaluate and improve their practices, demonstrating commitment to patient safety and quality care.
