Following a hearing of the Professional Conduct Committee (the “Committee”) into a complaint made against Mr. John Corr MPSI, which took place on 24 March 2025 and 1 April 2025, the Council of the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland (the “Council”) considered the Committee’s report on 26 June 2025. The Council decided to impose the sanction of cancellation to the Registrant’s registration and prohibition of restoration to the register for a period of five years, pursuant to section 48(1)(b)(iv) and (v) of the Pharmacy Act 2007 (the “Act”).

The Council considered the issue of publication of the Committee Report pursuant to section 57(2) of the Act and decided that it is in the public interest to publish the report of the Committee, redacted so as not to disclose the names of any third parties. The Council decided that it would not be in the public interest to publish the transcript of the inquiry or any part of the transcript. The Council’s decision was confirmed by the High Court on 17 November 2025.

Under section 57(1)(a) of the Act, the Council is obliged to give public notice of the sanction of cancellation to the Registrant’s registration and prohibition of restoration to the register for a period of five years.

Effective Date of cancellation: 17 November 2025
