Applying for an Exemption from Participation in ePortfolio Review

Read the ePortfolio Review Exemption Policy and understand how pharmacists can confidentially apply to us when they need an exemption from participation in the review.

While it is the expectation that all pharmacists participate in ongoing CPD as part of their registration, we understand circumstances may arise where a pharmacist is unable to submit their ePortfolio Review. Pharmacists who are unable to participate in the ePortfolio Review process may apply to the PSI for an exemption.

Those who wish to apply for an exemption for consideration should first review the ePortfolio Review Exemption Policy.

Applications for exemption from participation in ePortfolio Review 2026/27 are expected to open in August 2026.

If, after reading the ePortfolio Review Exemption Policy, you believe you have grounds for an exemption, you may wish to have the PSI Supporting Documentation Form completed in advance by your medical practitioner and/or employer, as you will be required to upload this as part of your application.

The PSI will notify all pharmacists and provide further information by email once the application window opens.

Submitting an application for exemption

When the exemption application window is open, if you wish to submit an application, you can do so by filling out the online form on the PSI Registration Portal. You will also need to submit the PSI Supporting Documentation Form, which can be uploaded to your application in the portal.

If you have any queries about the process, you can get in touch with us by email to cpd@psi.ie.

Applications for exemption will be managed on a case-by-case basis in strictest confidence. A decision about your application will be issued by email from the PSI after it has been considered. Please note, an exemption application is only valid for one ePortfolio Review period.
