Peter Dennehy

Peter Dennehy, PSI Council member

Peter is a practising barrister, chartered engineer, and accredited mediator and arbitrator. He is currently a member of the Irish Blood Transfusion Service and a member of the governing board of An Coimisiún Pleanála. 

Peter graduated from Trinity College, Dublin with a BA, BAI in engineering and in his early career worked in the telecommunications industry in Ireland and the UK before working on International Standards as the Head of Conformity Assessment at the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) in Geneva, Switzerland. He has worked in senior management roles in the Road Safety Authority (RSA), the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) and the Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council (PHECC). As a practicing barrister (BL) at the Bar of Ireland, his areas of practice include general practice, regulatory, planning, environmental and climate, company law and judicial review. He is a Fellow of Engineers Ireland (FIEI) and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb).

Peter has been appointed to the PSI Council as a public interest nominee. He is serving a second term on the Council.
